Who You Help

Heart House Hospice provides compassion, support and advocacy that lessens the distress of serious illness and loss on individuals and families within our communities. Your ticket purchase supports our community-based programs and services such as in-home and virtual hospice counselling, spiritual and bereavement support, health & wellness therapies, and our Help Us Understand Grief (HUUG) program for child and youth who are living in a home where someone they love is dying or has died.

  1. The lottery will take place online only in a series of monthly draws. All monthly draws and early bird draws will take place at 10:00 am on the dates below:

  • All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
  • Tickets are 10 tickets for $10.00, 40 tickets for $20.00, and 100 tickets for $40.00.
  • Tickets will be available at online at www.hospice5050.ca and www.hospice5050.com
  • Tickets will be sold using electronic raffle system supplied by Ascend Fundraising Solutions.
  • After buying, patrons will receive a confirmation e-mailed with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
  • The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.

  • The winning number will be announced on the website www.hospice5050.ca and www.hospice5050.com, emailed to all ticket purchasers, and on Heart House Hospice social media.
  • The winner may claim their prize by contacting Shelley Maynard, Fund Development Manager at Heart House Hospice at: (905) 712-8119, extension 233, or by email at: smaynard@hearthousehospice.com. All payments will be made by cheque.
  • The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for.
  • The winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet.
  • Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
  • If no winner comes forward, the winning ticket number will be kept in a safe and secure location and held for 6 months from the draw date. At the end of the six-month period, the total amount of the prize held in trust, including interest, will be included by the licensee in the gross proceeds of the lottery event.
  • The following individuals are not eligible to purchase ticket, participate in the 50/50 draws or win: Heart House Hospice Board of Directors and staff involved in the planning and execution of the draw, as well as their family members living in the same household.
